Staying Safe in the Summer Heat
The summer heat is definitely lovely, but be mindful of the risks of having too much fun under the sun! Heat stroke and exhaustion are just some of them. Find out how you can prepare and stay safe under the sweltering heat.
During intense weather, your body is struggling more than usual to keep itself cool. The most important thing is to stay hydrated! Try to drink fluids (preferably water) as much as a gallon a day, maybe even more if you’re at the midst of very humid weather.
Wear fabrics that are light and breathable. Wearing dark colors like black tend to absorb more heat, so stay breezy by wearing clothes that are light on the skin! This also goes for your pajamas.
Even when it’s summer, you don’t always have to stay outside! As much as possible, stay indoors and enjoy some air conditioning. The weather is at its hottest usually in the afternoon, so just take the fun indoors! You’ll have just as much fun without being at risk.
When you can’t help but go out, just apply ample amounts of sunscreen and take track of the amount of time that you’ve been spending out. Sunscreen will be your best friend during this season.
What are your favorite activities during summer? Remember, always stay safe and hydrated!
