Patient Service Representative (FT) – Day Shifts
Job Summary
Greet and register patients for evaluation and treatment. Verify medical insurance and ensure payment due at the time of service is collected. Always maintain a clean and neat appearance. Provide administrative support to the Nurse Manager/Facility Administrator and other staff as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides front office registration duties such as greeting and verifying, benefits, HIPAA consent forms, patient demographics, and payment receipts.
- Scans and enters patient information/medical reports in patient files through E-Power.
- Enters patient/service census and survey data.
- Provides medical records to other providers as requested with a medical release form signed by the patient.
- Properly log payment and cash receipts as required.
- Maintains adequate levels of supplies for patients’ use, such as water, coffee, condiments, and snacks.
- Performs duties to ensure the work area and restrooms are clean and free from hazards.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee-related issues.
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.
- Answers telephone in a polite manner, communicates clearly, and when necessary, transfers calls or information to the appropriate staff.
- Attends Patient Service Representative meetings as scheduled by the Nurse Manager/Facility Administrator, System Business Manager, or management staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2-year experience in clerical support.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- CPR Certification preferred
